Piraeus is the central and largest port of Greece for commerce and passengers serving transportation to and from the islands of the Aegean sea and abroad. The second largest commercial port is located in Thessaloniki and Kavala has also an important commercial port. The ports of Patras and Igoumenitsa connect Greece with Italy and other European countries.
Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” in Spata, 36 km from the center of Athens is the largest airport in Greece, while there are a lot of smaller airports that serve internal flights and in the summer months accept flights from the abroad.
Greece has a railway system that connects the capital with other cities, metro in Athens and Thessaloniki and tram in Athens.
The main roads of Greece that serve land transport are divided into two categories: two-lane smaller roads for cars and national highways of four or six lanes made of higher quality materials that can comfortably accommodate action movies with scenes of cars which develop high speeds.
These means of transportation can be both a cinematic setting and also facilitate the movement of the interested cinematographers and their crews.
